This is Tracy. She's a common thresher shark, or "fox shark" ^^ Plus a good friend of Bruce, the white shark lifeguard. I rushed the BG a little and inking didn't come out as well as I wanted, but meh. Was just a quickie pic I did for myself anyway.
Cool. But technical question; Why is she wearing clothes at all? She a person from a species obviously evolved in water. That means that when they develop clothes, if at all, they'd only use when not near water.
Indeed. But if you're going that route you might as well question her having mammary features despite sharks not being mammals. The simple truth is: this started out as a female torso sketch and then I just turned it into an anthro shark lady. I didn't think about proper character design and such back in the day.
Though mammery glands can be explained away. Wouldn't be very prudent for a species of higher intelligence to lay eggs. Also, since this species would be of higher intelligence, it would requir parental guidence and influence for the childs developements other than simply relying on instinct. Also also, mammery glands don't necissarily meanthat they lactate; the Tsetse bug, a mosquito-like insect that never stops for almost anything and travels in huge swarms across Africa, "breast feeds" its young (so they don't have to land to lay eggs or have to wait for the next generation to get out of its larva state before it can fly), but it isn't milk. Instead its this liquid of highly concentrated protiens.
I thought about making it different. But then I suddenly I knew I had to make it into this. I'll do the other thing another time. The tail is the unique thing about her species. sometimes the upper part of the tailfin can be as long as the actual body.
