Things have been a bit quiet the past month and a half or so, mostly due to being busy with work and not having a lot of time for art, but the latter was not due to procrastination as is so often the case. No, it was due to pursuing a dream that I have had for...fifteen years, give or take.
Which is why I am super happy to announce that I will be joining the LEGO group as a model designer, at the start of the next year!
As you can tell by a lot of my recent art, I'm still a big fan of Bionicle - and also Lego in general. A lot of people who love Lego as kids sort of drop out of the hobby when they get a little older, but there are also quite a lot who stick with it and I am one of them. I've never stopped building (Which those of you who follow me on flickr may have noticed: www.flickr.com/photos/corvinst… )and after I got my degree in game design, I decided to see if that dream could be achieved. It took a few tries, but eventually they invited me for an interview, followed by a candidate workshop in Denmark two weeks ago and last week I finally got the call.
Christmas came a little earlier this year it seems
The next three weeks will be a bit stressful, with moving to Denmark, getting everything sorted back here in Germany and getting presents for the family, but it's the good kind of stress. I will still be active online of course, here on DA and on other sites like ArtStation, I just won't be able to share anything covered by the NDA involved with the job. But I hope that with basically turning one of my big hobbies into my job, I can use the free time to draw and paint more and improve in those areas, so stay tuned for that!
Thanks again to everybody who's sticking around as followers and to everybody who favs and comments on the artworks!
If I don't get around to writing another journal before the end of the year, I hope you all have have happy holidays and a good start into 2015!

Signs of life
Yup, still here. It's still quiet and probably will remain that way for a while yet, since I don't have too much time to produce the finished works I want to next to everything else going on right now. But I am dedicating a lot of time to practicing and improving, so hopefully I will be able to paint things a little faster in the future to increase output =)
In the meantime, I'll continue sharing sketches and silly fanart on my tumblr: http://ferainart.tumblr.com/
Cheers everybody and catch ya later!
Update + Tumblr
Hi everybody!
Just wanted to let you all know that I have a tumblr now: http://ferainart.tumblr.com/
You might have noticed that I don't post too much art here on Deviantart anymore. That is mostly because I regard this as mostly the place for my more polished pieces and don't want to flood people's notifications with half-finished sketches and doodles. But, if you're into that, I will post more of that on the aforementioned tumblr.
Also keep an eye on the official Bionicle Facebook page. They post pretty cool G2 Artwork every few weeks, including a few contributions made by me.
Keep it awesome and catch y'all later =)
Infrequent News: 4 months and counting.
Hey y'all!
It's gotten a bit quiet here the last 2 months or so. I hadn't planned on that, but you know if you want to make the great beings laugh, just tell them your plans. Usually what gets in the way of writing a blog is the inevitable need for sleep and a number of other free-time activities, such as participation in the BZPRPG, hitting the gym and catching up on art and PC games a little. But mostly it is my tendency of staying longer at work, which leaves very little time to actually sit down, structure thoughts and write a blog entry. But I figured better now than never.
Staying longer at work though does not mean putting in overtim
Settling In
Phew. The last 8 Weeks passed way more quickly than expected, but things are starting to slow down, or at least it feels that way. Starting work at LEGO has been great so far and they really have an amazingly well thought-out on-boarding process and I am already deeply involved in a few projects. Getting Set up with a flat, Danish residency and all the others things needed to live here had all been taken care off within about 3 weeks. Moving to Denmark went quite smoothly as well and though the flat I am in only temporary for this year, the place is becoming rapidly familiar.
Which leads me to a few, minor things that are still posing chall
